Getting things done is the goal of all organizations regardless of whether they are profit-driven, public service oriented or a community based interest group. One of the greatest inhibitors of the effectiveness of any organization is team dysfunction and poor leadership. In many cases, these two characteristics go hand in hand, and there is a reciprocating relationship between the two of them. The power to change this dynamic rests in the hands of the group’s leaders.

But, what is a good leader?

This workshop will take those who are potential leaders and make them consider what it means to be a good leader with a view to the development and improvement of their own practice. Topics of discussion will include

  • the power of a good leader
  • what makes a team successful,
  • the function and dysfunction of teams and what a leader can and cannot do about it.

The workshop will use discussion, reflection (personal and shared), journalling, role-play, brainstorming and group problem-solving.

Successful participants will leave the workshop with:

  • a clearer sense of their own strengths and areas for development,
  • a deeper understanding of the challenges facing leaders,
  • and a new series of strategies for meeting those challenges and fostering the greater productivity and success of the teams they lead.

These sessions are always confidential, and are conducted in a supportive and encouraging manner.

These sessions are available for individuals or for small groups.
